Sendy Green

Sendy began working toward a degree in Religious Education in 1998, and after taking time to focus on their growing family for 22 years, she has renewed her pursuit toward completing her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Creative Writing. She has had 26 years of experience with religious education including teaching Bible classes from babies through middle school and adult women’s studies, leading and assisting in curriculum decisions for different churches, planning, implementing, and assisting in VBS, and teaching at a Christian youth camp. Other aspects of her experience include working with the Boys & Girls Club, teen activities program director for low-income families, teaching in various homeschool co-ops and groups, coordinating large-group field trips, assisting in a Young Marines unit, and leading a homeschool moms’ Charlotte Mason study and discussion group.

Baptized at the age of 11, she was raised in a Christian home with a rich family history in ministry of different kinds going back multiple generations. Some of her earliest memories are sitting in Bible class watching puppets and spending countless hours at a church building, as well as a number of years at youth camps and youth rallies. Her 6th grade Bible class teacher influenced her decision to pursue religious education and soon found pure joy in teaching children.

Both Sendy and her husband were educated in public schools, but after encounters with friends and family members who homeschooled, they both felt the Lord impress on them that this was the right decision for their family. They have homeschooled all three of their children for 17 years. Their youngest will be a Senior at Ignite this year, and their two oldest children are pursuing degrees in ministry. She is thrilled to continue her journey with the homeschool community pouring into the children and families of Ignite. She is excited to work with the parent team coordinating events for all of our families and looks forward to the adventure God has in store through this ministry.
