Sammie Moran

Sammie was born and raised in Phoenix and was homeschooled herself. She fell in love with physics in high school and went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Astrophysics from Northern Arizona University, which is where she met her husband of a little more than a year. After graduation, Sammie spent time doing research on dark matter and working as a teaching assistant at Arizona State University, which is where she discovered that she loved teaching even more than research. She then spent two years teaching 11th grade physics and calculus at a local charter school, until God called her back to the homeschooling community to work at Ignite.

Sammie is passionate about helping students see the beauty in math and science and strives to bring a sense of wonder to the classroom. She and her husband are on a mission to visit all of the National Parks, and on the weekends you can find her on a hiking or rock climbing adventure, curled up with a good book, or playing a new board game.
