Melanie Ketterling earned her BA in Elementary Education from Ottawa University. Melanie is AZ certified, with a full SEI endorsement, and is highly qualified in Language Arts. She has had 20+ years working with children birth-8th grade in preschool and classroom settings. She spent 9 of those years in the classroom, at a local private Christian school, as either a full-time/lead teacher or a substitute teacher. In addition to teaching, Melanie has administered DIBELS/PELI testing for reading fluency for grades PRE K-5, planned chapels, developed Economics lessons for K-4th grade, and assisted with annual speech meets. She has spent the last 4 years teaching for the online program through Northwest Christian School during which time she facilitated all subjects K-3rd grade. Her passion for learning and teaching kept growing through attending and leading professional development. She has led professional developments on brain-friendly teaching, phonics, data binders, cooperative learning, and math journals.

Melanie took time out of the classroom to homeschool her two children through their high school years. Her son, Kyle, will be graduating in the spring of 2024 with his BS in Animal Health and Behavior, and her daughter, Kaitlyn, will be starting her senior year at GCU as an Elementary Education major. Melanie has such a passion for students, and she cheers them on as they grow both spiritually and academically!
