Kaitlyn McKay
Kaitlyn McKay is thrilled to be part of Ignite Homeschool Ministries. Teaching has always been close to her heart, and she feels incredibly blessed to be on this journey. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University, and while she is still new to teaching, she has gained valuable experience along the way. She has worked as a substitute teacher at Phoenix Christian Academy with grades K-3rd and also served as a student teacher at North Valley Christian Academy.
Her love for learning began at home, as she was homeschooled from 7th-12th grade—a time she absolutely cherished. That experience gave her a deep appreciation for faith-based education and the importance of a supportive learning environment, fueling her passion for teaching.
Kaitlyn’s mother, Melanie Ketterling, is a tutor with Ignite and has over 20 years of teaching experience. Kaitlyn has learned so much from her mother’s wisdom and is excited to follow in her footsteps. She looks forward to investing in her own students, helping them grow both academically and in their faith.
She is eager to get to know each family and be part of their child’s learning journey. Her hope is that her classroom will be a place where students feel encouraged, valued, and inspired—not only to learn but to deepen their relationship with God.
