Julie Smith graduated with a BA in Bible with emphasis in Cross-Cultural Ministries from L.I.F.E. Bible College in Los Angeles.   She married after college, and entered children’s and youth ministry while serving as pastoral assistant.  She earned her AS in Nursing and worked as an RN alongside ministry.   In 1999, when their first child was still young, friends introduced the Smiths to homeschooling and their new adventure began. Living books and active learning have been the hallmark of their home ever since.  26 years and 4 children later, they’re on the final stretch with their youngest, a current Ignite student.  Julie has served multiple homeschool co-ops in various teaching and admin roles over the years.  She loves tutoring, encouraging new homeschool moms, nutritious cooking, and all things sourdough!  Julie is passionate about the mission of Ignite, and she looks forward to supporting our students in their journey of learning about God and His world.
